Happy Monday! It’s a dreary winter day here and it’s the perfect, cozy, stay home, and talk about decorating kinda day. So I’m sharing my personal tips for making decorating personal and adding your personal touches.
Almost* everything I purchase for my home has some sort of personal value to it. Whether it be the orange citrus fruit art – because my family had orange groves or the coastal prints – because I’m a native Floridian. Or the Horse sculpture- because I used to ride horses. I could keep going but you get the point. All of these pieces work cohesively because I’ve added them in unique ways and because they mean something to me.
So with that being said, no matter what your decorating style is- be sure to add and mix pieces that are personal to you and can flow perfectly together without it looking like a mishmash. Keep large sculptural pieces in more neutral colors so the sculpture can stand out and not the color. Don’t be afraid to turn unexpected pieces into art like a page from a book or a woven basket.
Ok, those are a few tips for today. 😆 Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to come back for more blogpost.
