Three years ago my friend and fellow blogger Gentry over on Girl meets Bow, introduced me to the Word of the Year and it has been something that I look forward to every new year. The first year my word was Grateful and that really was so fitting for my life at the time. This year, 2022, my word is Encouraged. And I feel that this word is definitely fitting for me in my time of life right now. I feel encouraged to fight for the things that are right and I feel encouraged to fight against the wrong that we are facing in the world right now. I feel like God is encouraging me to fight for others and to be a voice of reasoning and selflessness.
I posted this verse over the past weekend and some of you really resonated with it as well.
1 Samuel 30:6 KJV
6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.
During such an awful time period, David encouraged himself in the Lord.
I feel the exact same way- during this time period of uncertainty, hopelessness and fighting against those who dare to hurt others for differing views- I feel encouraged in God.
I hope that God will continue to encourage me in this season.
What is your Word of the Year? I’d love to know.
