Weekend Favorites: Homemade Cashew Milk Recipe

So as you all know I have been transitioning into a dairy-free life – although I’ll never be completely dairy-free. I just can’t do it. However, I’m making an effort to be at least 75% dairy-free. So, therefore I wanted to try my hand out in making homemade cashew milk. I have to say it’s completely easy and so delicious! I started by soaking my cashews in water for a minimum of 4 hours and rinsed them thoroughly. Here are the simple breakdown and ingredients.

I did a ratio of 2 cups of water to 1 cup of soaked and rinsed cashews.
Vanilla extract
Honey
Dates

The last 3 ingredients are for flavor and sweetening. I added no certain amount but I did do a taste test to make sure it was sweet enough for me- I like it sweet because I’m adding this to my cold brew iced coffee.
I tried it and it’s so delicious! Perfect for us who are dairy-free. It doesn’t mean we have to compromise on flavor.

*NOTE- If you see any small cashew pieces you can strain them out 🙂
